Rural and Remote Infrastructure Grants Scheme

The Rural and Remote Pharmacy Infrastructure Grant Scheme (RRPIGS) was a grants scheme that operated under the Third Community Pharmacy Agreement. The Scheme was designed to support community pharmacy in the development of innovative strategies to enhance and improve access to pharmacy services for Australians in rural and remote communities. Copies of Executive Summaries and Final Reports from completed projects can be accessed below.

 

The primary aim of RRPIGS was to:

  • Improve the recruitment and retention rates of pharmacists in rural and remote locations
  • Improve the delivery of pharmacy services to rural and remote communities.
  • The objectives of the RRPIGS is to promote the delivery of quality medication services to rural and remote communities through projects which:
  • Tailor national initiatives to meet locally identified priorities
  • Develop innovative local strategies
  • Develop infrastructure to link rural and remote pharmacies with each other, with other health practitioners and their clients.
