Rural Pharmacy Resources
Rural and Remote Pharmacy Orientation Package The Rural and Remote Pharmacy Orientation Package (RARPOP), located at www.rarpop.com.au, provides an initial introduction to specific practice issues that are relevant to rural and remote practice. These include an introduction to the dynamics of rural and remote communities, exposure to cultural and clinical issues in Indigenous health and a basic knowledge of rural and remote pharmacy practice. It also provides current information on rural placement opportunities for pharmacy students. Download the Student placement information form here.... The package aims to ensure that pharmacists and students entering rural or remote locations have an understanding of the positive and negative aspects of rural pharmacy practice and lifestyle. The web site content was developed in consultation with community pharmacists, Aboriginal Health Workers, pharmacy students and graduates. The project was funded by the Rural and Remote Pharmacy Infrastructure Grant Scheme as a component of the Rural Pharmacy Workforce Program (RPWP), which is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing. Pharmacies who would like to contribute information to the web-site can download a Pharmacy Information Sheet. Pharmacy Information Sheet
