Medicines Information to Consumers Program
The Medicines Information to Consumers (MIC) Program was an initiative of the Third Agreement to provide pharmacists participating in the program with incentive payments to encourage them to use Consumer Medicine Information (CMI) in their daily professional practice. As part of the Fourth Agreement, from 1 December 2005 the dispensing fee paid for all claimable prescriptions will incorporate the 10 cent payment for CMI. Consequently, from 1 December 2005 members will no longer have to register for the MIC Program or submit a claim form to receive payment under the MIC Program. However, to ensure you receive your full entitlement under the MIC Program, make sure you submit you claim to Medicare Australia for CMIs provided up to and including 30 November 2005.
